The Myths and the Facts

Myth. “Infomercials only run in the middle of the night. My potential customers like to sleep”.

Fact! While there are large blocks of time that run overnight, there are still plenty of available daytime slots. You can supplement your half-hour program with 2-minute and 1-minute spots that can run throughout the day. And trust me, you will be surprised how many people watch late night TV!
Myth. “Direct Response is only for gadgets, beauty products and real estate”.

Fact! The main requirement for success is that your product must appeal to the mass market. The more people that have a NEED for your product, the better it will do. If you can create this “need” through your infomercial, then you can have a success with any product. Top in the industry are diet, beauty, kitchen and household products, and of course, exercise equipment and real estate.
Myth. "TV advertising is expensive".


Fact! Depending on where you advertise, you can get a half-hour slot for as little as a $200 and 1-minute spots for as little as $50. They key is matching the right channels and airtimes to your product to get the best return on your investment. But you have to remember, the goal is to have the product sales pay for that media. If you have a successful product, the media costs are not even an issue.
